Veterinary Feed Directive – What you need to know!

Tue. January 26| 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM | Room A-412

Under FDA’s new Judicious Use Policy, approved animal drugs that are shared with human medicine use will be allowed to be used as therapeutic drugs only under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian who must complete an order known as a veterinary feed directive or VFD. The presentation will detail the changes made to the VFD rule in spring of 2014 and describe the challenges going forward. This will include what to do with old animal drug premixes after the full policy goes into effect in January 2017. Richard Sellers, AFIA senior vice president of legislative and regulatory affairs, will present and moderate a panel of experts to explain the topic further.
